Simple Explanation on how to use the vMapsOne.

First the Profiles are generated as the base of designing for Rail, Road and Expressways and Canal. These tools are provided on as-is-basis. As per the plan you will be asked to register the basic project information.

FOR "PROFILE" GENERATION

The "Profile" tab allows you, where you as the registered user, can generate profiles of Road, Rail or Canals which are in Design stage.

Login to watch the tutorial video.

For e.g. you want the profile of a road, after logging in download the Format for Profile in XLSX, sample data is given in the XLSX download, Replace sample data with your project data, DO NOT EDIT / CHANGE THE HEADERS. This profile Format has 2 rows as headers, Copy / paste your data from 3rd row onwards. Next browse/select the file and click "upload" the profile data.

  1. 1.You can view the data uploaded. Any change you see needs to be done, re-upload the XLSX file. PLEASE NOTE :- in this profile file you MAY add coordinates for all lines AND levels, THIS will generate a DTM in the background, meaning centerline XYZ, LEFT and RIGHT XYZ, and THREE more LEFT & RIGHT lines. If you enter data for all columns, the quality of DTM will get better.

  1. 2.Follow the on screen instructions, set the scale of plot, default is 1:2500.

  1. 3.Next click Plot Profile, a new Browser window opens with the profile plotted. On top right corner, you will see the DXF export/download arrow button.

  1. 4.Once the profile is as per your requirement:

    1. A)You can download in DXF, open in any CAD software you are using, and take a long plot as per the profile length.

    2. B)This gives a clear understanding for planning the grade as per your project specification.

    3. C)To record and plan your grades, download the Grade Format, and plan the grade — EITHER ONE TYPE OF GRADE, IN PERCENT OR IN VALUES, NOT BOTH.

FOR "GRADE" ALONG WITH PROFILE GENERATION

Download the Grade Format, as this has some sample data, DO NOT CHANGE / EDIT THE HEADERS. First Row is headers, and second row only 2 columns have data. Headers also give indication of what data goes where. When you buy the plan and login, and in GRADE TAB, you will see various parameters can be entered and respective explanation is given.

Login to watch the tutorial video.

Once the data and parameters are set, click "Plot Grade". Also you can check the "Report" TAB. In Report TAB you can download the Cut/Fill Report. The Grade Format can be re-uploaded, so whenever you change the grade while designing, you can upload the file again.

FOR HORIZONTAL PARAMETERS, UPLOAD "APEX" OR TANGENT INTERSECTION COORDINATES

To get the Horizontal parameters or Curve parameters, we need to put just the Apex or Tangent Intersection Coordinates, along with the other values. Download the Apex Format file, it has some sample data. Understand and read the sample data, and replace it with your project data.

Enter the Chainage Interval and starting chainage. Browse and select the Apex file to upload. Then click Upload Apex — do not edit or change the Headers in the Apex XLSX file. Enter the Horizontal scale and other data. Then click "Plot Alignment". A new window will open with the centre solid line, left and right corridor in dash line, with chainage marked along it.

Read the Profile Notes, for further understanding. In the REPORT section, you will find the Horizontal Parameters can be downloaded.

REPORT TAB

As the Tab heading says, in this Tab we have various reports and values that get generated and will be available for your download.

TOOLS

Coordinate Correction: Suppose you want to correct the coordinates of the Apex or Tangent Intersection coordinates. Upload the Apex XLSX, a new TAB will open — NOT a window. Drag-and-Drop the Apex point to the required placement for new coordinates.

FOR CROSS SECTION

In this TAB the cross section can be generated. For cross section there are Two formats — one is for cross section ground profile, and the other is cross section formation. Cross section formation is for the designed road or rail etc.
